KATHMANDU, June 19: The seventh general convention of the Nepal Trade Union Congress (NTUC) kicked off here today. The theme for the event is 'Labour power is the strength of the nation; respect labor'.
Officiating president of the Nepali Congress Purna Bahadur Khadka is scheduled to inaugurate the general convention.

Other NC leaders Dr Shekhar Koirala, Dhanraj Gurung, Gagan Kumar Thapa, Bishwa Prakash Sharma and Krishna Prasad Sitaula will address the event. Over 1,000 central general convention representatives from across the country have arrived in Kathmandu to participate in it, it has been said. The general convention will run until June 21.
