NRNA calls emergency meeting on Monday to assist flood victims

KATHMANDU, Sept 29: The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has convened an emergency meeting following the tragic loss of lives due to floods, landslides, and inundation in various parts of the country.

KATHMANDU, Sept 29: The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has convened an emergency meeting following the tragic loss of lives due to floods, landslides, and inundation in various parts of the country. 


According to Dr Hem Raj Sharma, vice president and head of the NRNA’s Charity and Human Welfare Department, the Central Committee (ICC) will meet on Monday to discuss aid for the flood victims.

Earlier, in a joint statement issued on Saturday, NRNA President Dr Badri KC and Dr Sharma expressed their deep sorrow for the Nepali people affected by the recent disasters.


The association wished for the swift recovery of those injured in the natural calamity and has urged the Government of Nepal to enhance the efforts aimed at protecting the lives of flood-affected citizens, search for the missing, and provide rescue and relief.


The statement also called for adherence to safety standards to prevent further disasters from floods, landslides, and erosion due to the ongoing rains. The association has urged its national committees in 87 countries worldwide to mobilize relief and support swiftly during this crisis.
