Likewise, Slalom Wild-water Championship will take place on November 30 and December 1, while Himalayan Whitewater Challenge will be held on December 1 and 2 on Bhotekoshi River, Sindhupalchowk. NRCA would also host Freestyle and Wild-water Race on February 20 and 21.
According to NRCA General Secretary Kumar Ranabhat, the association is to organize trainings for flat-water, slalom and wild-water canoeing ahead of the championships in Pokhara as well as on Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers respectively.
NRCA President Man Bahadur Neupane said that the newly elected executive committee will work to make the sport popular in the country and to develop Nepal as world´s best rafting and canoeing destination.
National Sports Council (NSC) Member Secretary Yubaraj Lama, who is also the president of Nepal Mountain Sports Federation, said that Nepal has the potential to become a rafting and canoeing destination while Nepali athletes have chance to achieve success through this game at the international level.
