NRB to mop additional Rs 25 billion from BFIs

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is set to withdraw an additional Rs 25 billion from the banking system for liquidity management after banks were unable to increase their lending.

KATHMANDU, Feb 25: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is set to withdraw an additional Rs 25 billion from the banking system for liquidity management after banks were unable to increase their lending.

The NRB has stated that it is going to withdraw money for 22 days through the bidding system. It has invited proposals from the BFIs with ample liquidity. Previously, the NRB mopped Rs 149 billion, which has not yet matured.
