NPL: Chitwan Rhinos set 131-run target for Karnali Yaks

Karnali won the toss and chose to field first. Chitwan, who batted first, added 130 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the ongoing match at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur on Friday.

KATHMANDU, Dec 6: Chitwan Rhinos have set a target of 131 runs for Karnali Yaks in the first match today under the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL).


Karnali won the toss and chose to field first. Chitwan, who batted first, added 130 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the ongoing match at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur on Friday.


Ravi Bopara scored a half-century for Chitwan Rhinos. He remained not out at 59 runs, facing 40 balls and hitting 7 fours and 1 six.

Bopara formed a 60-run partnership for the 4th wicket with captain Kushal Malla. Malla contributed 23 runs off 27 balls, hitting 2 fours and 1 six.


Earlier, Chitwan lost 3 wickets during the power play. The first opener, Luc Benkenstein, was bowled out for zero by Karnali captain Sompal Kami in the fifth ball of the first over.


The other opener, Deepak Bohara, was caught by Dev Khanal off Nandan Yadav’s delivery in the 4th over for just 8 runs. In the last over of the power play, Bipin Rawal was bowled out for 11 runs by Zeeshan Maqsood.


Karnali's Bipin Sharma took three wickets, giving 21 runs in 4 overs. Zeeshan Maqsood also performed well, taking 2 wickets while conceding 22 runs in four overs. Captain Sompal Kami and Nandan Yadav each took one wicket.


In the tournament, Chitwan have won both of their previous matches, while Karnali have lost both of their matches.
