NPC enters Super League

KATHMANDU, April 19: Defending champion, Nepal Police Club, on Tuesday entered the Super League of the National Women's League beating Eastern Region by 4-1 at the ANFA Complex, Satdobato in Lalitpur.

Police, which has a match in hand in the round, claimed the first position in securing the second round berth from Group A. Police has six points from two matches.  

Nisha Sunar scored two goals, while Niru Thapa and Yasodha Lama added a goal each for Police to sideline Eastern. Manju Rai scored the consolation goal for Eastern.

Niru Thapa gave Police lead in the 25th minute and Yasodha doubled the tally in the 34th minute. Nisha added two goals in the 44th and 64th minutes.

Eastern's Manju scored a goal in the 55th minute to cut the deficit.

Meanwhile, in the other match of the day, Central Region beat Mid-western Region by 8-0 to keep its chances for the next round from Group A. Central is in the second position with four points.

Rashmi Kumar Ghising scored a hat-trick, while Sita Kuswar scored two goals, Rabina Maharjan, Monkia Kuswar and Manisha Raut added a goal each.
