Birgunj, Manohara enter super league

KATHMANDU, June 13: Birgunj Youth Academy and Manohara United Youth Club on Monday entered the super league round of the Martyr's Memorial C Division Football League being held at the ANFA Complex, Satdobato.


Birgunj recorded 5-2 win over Sano Gaucharan Youth Club, while Manohara played 2-2 draw against Oasis Club in Group B matches to secure their places in the super league.


Both the teams collected 13 points from six matches of the group comprised of seven teams. Birgunj and Manohara both won four matches, lost one and played draw in a match, respectively. However, Birgunj topped the group following the goal differences.

From Group A, Shree Bhagwati and Jhamsikhel have already booked their places in the super league.


After the super league round, the top two teams will be promoted to B Division, while third and fourth will remain in C Division.


Likewise, Nawa Jyoti that finished bottom in Group A and Bouddha that finished bottom in Group B, have been relegated from C Division.


On Monday, Krishna Shakya scored a hat-trick, while Chaturdham Chaudhary and Aditya Shakya added a goal each for Birgunj, while Bibek Karki and Roshan Magar netted a goal each for Sano Gaucharan.


Similarly, Sumit Tamang and Subash Baniya netted for Oasis, while Tej Bahadur Budhathoki and Aakash Lama scored a goal each for Manohara as the match ended on 2-2 draw.
