His mortal remains were consigned to flames by his son Pranab Giri.[break]
A large number of media persons and well wishers had reached the Aryaghat to pay their last respects to late Giri.
Giri died of cancer at the age of 62 on Sunday morning. Born at Naghal of Kathmandu in 1951, Giri had begun his career in journalism as an international news monitor and later as a news presenter for Radio Nepal.
He also worked as a news editor and presenter for Nepal Television and taught economics at Min Bhawan Campus for more than two decades.
He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters.
