KATHMANDU, April 2: Nine individuals have sustained injuries after a sumo plunged 100 meters from a cliff in Makwanpur district on Wednesday.
The Sumo (Na 1 Ja 5485), heading to Kathmandu from Gaur, Rautahat, met with an accident at Indrasarowar Rural Municipality-2, Makwanpur.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 3:55 pm on Wednesday, when the sumo's brake failed on the Bhimphedi-Kulekhani-Sisneri-Kathmandu road section. The vehicle lost control and fell about 100 meters.
After the accident, a police team led by Assistant Sub Inspector of Police Khagendra Lal Gubhaju, reached the scene. The team immediately carried out a rescue operation and sent the injured to Kathmandu for treatment.
There were 10 people, including the driver, in the sumo. Three individuals sustained serious injuries, one is in moderate condition, and five others have minor injuries. The driver of the sumo is in contact with the police, and the vehicle remains at the accident site, according to the police.
