Two killed after tipper rams TATA Sumo

BANEPA, Dec 11: Two persons were killed and nine others injured in a collision involving TATA Sumo jeep and a truck at Bhainsepati of Nasikasthan VDC – 1 along the Araniko Highway this morning.

BANEPA, Dec 11: Two persons were killed and nine others injured in a collision involving TATA Sumo jeep and a truck at Bhainsepati of Nasikasthan VDC – 1 along the Araniko Highway this morning. 



The deceased have been identified as Nilam Karki, 41, of Jhapa and Madan Shrestha, 35, of Madhumala – 7, Morang, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Nabin Raj Rai, of District Police Office, Kavrepalanchowk. 



The ill-fated TATA Sumo (Me 1 Ja 2191) en route to Kathmandu from Damak via Sindhuli was rammed by a tipper (Ba 4 Kha 3556) heading from the opposite direction following which the jeep crashed into a field and overturned. 



The tipper driver is absconding and police have impounded the vehicle. The two were seriously injured in the accident and died in course of treatment at a hospital. The rest of the injured passengers are undergoing treatment at the Banepa-based Shir Memorial Hospital. RSS
