KATHMANDU, May 7: If you are looking for a portable computer that consumes low energy and yet delivers a pleasant viewing experience MSI laptops can be the best options.



Suresh Kayastha, manager of Ocean Computers - the authorized distributor of MSI laptops for Nepal, said MSI laptops are gaining popularity in the Nepali market because they are available in cheaper price and provide higher power backup. “Load-shedding is a major problem for Nepalis. Ocean Computers has recently introduced new models of MSI laptops for professionals, gaming freaks and business travelers who need devices with longer battery life. MSI CX 480 uses Intel´s second generation i3 2310 M 2.1 GHZ processor, 4GB RAM, 320 GB HDD and Giga NIC.



Similarly, it has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, 1.3 MP camera and 6-cell battery that provides more than 5 hours backup. Similarly, the other notebook MSI X460 has two variants - using Intel i3 2350 M 2.3 GHz and Intel i5 2450 M 3.1 GHz processor. The X460 has 4GB RAM, 500 GB HDD, HD webcam, Giga NIC, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0. The 6-cell battery in this model gives up to eight hours power backup. The X460 DX, on the other hand, uses Intel i5 2450 M 3.1 GHz processor. It has 4 GB RAM, 750 GB HDD, HD webcam, Giga NIC, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0. With 6-cell battery, it gives power backup up to eight hours.



In the gaming series, Ocean Computers have introduced two models - MSI GT683DX and GE620DX. Both the models use Intel i5 2450 M 2.5 GHz processor, 4 GB RAM and 750 GB HDD. HD webcam, Giga NIC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, Dynaudio Premium and THX sound, GPU boost technology and HDMI port are the other features in these models.



Similarly, both the models come with genuine Windows 7 Home Premium operating system and Blue-Ray combo drive. GT683DX is expensive than GE620DX as the former model supports expandable memory up to 32 GB. It has 9-cell battery, dual SATA hard drives with Raid 0 to double transmission speed. The GE620DX supports expandable memory up to 12 GB only and has 6-cell battery.



Ocean Computers has also introduced MSI netbook U180DX that uses Intel Atom N2600 1.6 GHz processor, 1 GB RAM, 320 GB HDD, 1.3 MP camera and Giga NIC. Similarly, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, 6-cell battery, more than 10 hours battery backup, full web page viewing system and exclusive TDE technology are the other features in U180DX.
