KATHMANDU, Jan 4: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday slid 8.71 points down to close at 2,049.28 points.
According to the NEPSE, the market opened at 2,058.00 points and hit the day’s high at 2,072.09 points in the first 45 minutes of trading. The market, however, fell in the remaining trading hours and lost around 23 points before closing for the day.
581 laptops gathering dust at Election Commission
The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also declined by 5.12 points. The daily turnover amount increased to Rs 5.581 billion from Rs 4.048 billion on Wednesday.
Four out of the 13 groups including trading, hydropower, investment and mutual funds were the gainers. Life insurance shed 137.08 points, followed by non-life insurance that lost 104.88 points.
Among individual companies, 128 were recorded as losers whereas 113 companies were the gainers.
Sonapur Minerals and Oil Limited carried out the largest transactions of its shares worth Rs 334.51 million. Siddhartha Premier Insurance Limited lost the highest of 6.56 points. Kalika Power Company Ltd was recorded as the biggest gainer.
