KATHMANDU, Jan 7: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday plunged 26.36 points to close at 2,022.92 points.
According to the NEPSE, the market opened at 2,049.28 points and hit the day’s high at 2,056.49 points in the first one hour of the trading. The market, however, went downhill in the remaining trading hours and lost around 34 points before the market closed for the day.
NEPSE nosedives 90.73 points; daily turnover declines to Rs 12....
The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also declined 6.16 points. The daily turnover amount slightly declined to Rs 5.241 billion from Rs 5.581 billion on Thursday.
Only hydropower gained 25.16 points, while the remaining 12 groups were the losers. Life insurance and non-life insurance lost the highest of 259.68 points and 186.40 points, respectively.
Among individual companies, 159 were recorded as losers whereas 81 companies were the gainers.
Sonapur Minerals and Oil Limited carried out the largest transactions of its shares worth Rs 280.056 million. Manushi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the highest of 6.69 points. Terhathum Power Company Limited was recorded as the highest gainer.
