KATHMANDU, March 14: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday plunged 27.84 points to close at 2,080.87 points.
The market opened at 2,108.72 points and dipped around 12 points in the first 18 minutes of trading. The index then reached the day’s high at 2,109.38 points in the next half an hour. However, the market went downward in the remaining trading hours.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies declined by 4.83 points. The daily turnover further declined to Rs 3.94 billion from Rs 4.24 billion on Wednesday.
All the 13 trading groups had their market values declined in the intraday trading on Thursday. The index of life insurance and non-life insurance plunged 286.99 points and 188.19 points respectively.
Among individual companies, only 42 were recorded as gainers whereas 198 were the losers.
Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Ltd with transactions worth Rs 508.90 million led the segment of highest turnover. Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was the top gainer, while Swabhimaan Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the highest of 6.02 percent of its market price.
