KATHMANDU, Feb 5: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Sunday increased marginally by 1.54 points to close at 2,096.08 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,094.54 points and went through a high range of fluctuations throughout the trading hours. The index went to the day’s high at 2,118.27 points while it plunged to as low as 2,088.23 points.
Nepse up for a fifth consecutive week
The daily turnover came down to Rs 1.931 billion from Rs 2.096 billion on Thursday.
A total of 108 companies gained in their market values whereas 101 companies were recorded as the losers. The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chip companies also increased by 1.89 points.
Of the 13 trading groups, five including life insurance, non-life insurance, trading, microfinance and others had their average market price dropped. Of the gainers, manufacturing and processing added the highest value of 36.09 points to its market value.
In individual companies, shares of Nepal Life Insurance posted the largest transaction amount worth Rs 64.42 million. Adarsha Laghubitta Bittiiya Sanstha was recorded as the biggest gainer, while Eastern Hydropower Limited lost highest percent of its market value.
