KATHMANDU, Jan 20: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) gained 33.03 points on Thursday to close at 2,931.34 points.
Nepse hits 2-year high after week's broad surge
In the intraday trading of shares, the Nepse index increased by 1.14 percent on the back of a surge in average shares price of listed companies belonging to 11 out of 13 sub-groups. Except for banking and mutual funds, all the rest of sub-indices took a leap on Thursday trading. Of the gainers, indices of life-insurance, non-life insurance and development banks increased by three-digit points.
Despite a double-digit rise in Nepse index, the transaction amount stood at Rs Rs 5.77 billion. Market capitalization has reached Rs 4.14 trillion.
