KATHMANDU, Jan 17: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Tuesday increased 32.72 points to close at 2,182.11 points.
It was the first trading day after the secondary market remained closed for the past four days. On Tuesday, the market opened at 2,149.39 points and went to as low as 2,137.29 points in the first few minutes of the trading hours. However, the transaction took an upward pace in the remaining trading hours throughout the day.

In the intraday trading, a total of 169 companies added up in their market values, while 30 companies lost their points. The daily turnover stood at Rs 3.72 billion, a decline from Rs 5.47 billion on Thursday, the last trading day.
The sensitive index that measures the performance of the blue chip companies also gained 4.58 points. Out of the 13 trading groups, only banks lost their average share prices. Hotels and tourism groups soared 163.82 points, the highest among the gainers.
Among the individual companies, Api Power Company had the largest amount of transactions of its shares worth Rs 232.60 million. Green Ventures Limited was the biggest gainer, while Prabhu Select Fund lost the highest percent of its market value.
