KATHMANDU, Sept 18: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index continued its upward trend on Friday, gaining 22.85 points to close at 2,647.22.
The Sensitive Index increased by 5.32 points, the Float Index by 1.87 points and the Sensitive Float Index by 1.90 points.
Along with the rise in the Nepse index, daily turnover also increased by Rs 1.25 billion compared to Thursday. Shares of 345 companies changed hands in 64,072 transactions, with 21.27 million shares traded for a total turnover of Rs 6.745 billion.
Nepse up for a fifth consecutive week
Nepse recorded a turnover of Rs 5.49 billion on Thursday.
Snow Rivers Limited recorded the highest gain of 13.66 percent on Friday, while Hathaway Investment recorded the biggest decline, falling 15 percent.
Kumari Bank led the market in turnover, with shares worth Rs 321.3 million traded. Laxmi Sunrise Bank recorded turnover of Rs 270 million, while Global IME Bank saw shares worth Rs 230 million traded.
Of the 13 sub-indices, 11 closed higher on Friday. The Finance and Others sub-indices recorded marginal declines.
