KATHMANDU, July 1: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday increased by 16.29 points to close at 2,053.38 points.
The market opened at 2,037.09 points and plunged to the day’s low at 2,030.85 points in the first 25 minutes. The index then went through a series of fluctuations while it took an upward pace in the last 15 minutes before the market closed for the day.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies gained a notable 3.01 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 2.99 billion from Rs 3.60 billion on Sunday.
Only two groups including finance, and manufacturing and processing declined by 20.41 points and 13.62 points, respectively. Of the 11 gaining groups, development banks posted the highest gain of 52.56 points.
Among individual companies, 176 were recorded as gainers whereas 60 were the losers.
Nepal Finance Ltd had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 191.32 million. The company was also recorded as the topmost loser. Himalayan Urja Bikas Company Limited gained the highest of 9.74 percent of its market price.
