KATHMANDU, Feb 9: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Thursday gained 12.45 points to close at 2,182.63 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,170.18 points and fell to as low as 2,153.66 points. However, the index recovered by around 30 points before the market closed for the day.
Nepse up for a fifth consecutive week
Despite a gain in the index, the daily turnover declined to Rs 2.062 billion from Rs 3.691 billion Wednesday.
In the intraday trading, a total of 152 companies gained in their market values, while 58 were the losers. The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chip companies also increased by 1.42 points.
Only the mutual fund was the loser, while the remaining 12 trading groups gained in their market prices. Eight were added with double-digit points in the market indices.
Among individual companies, Api Power Company posted the largest transaction amount worth Rs 58.65 million. Barahi Hydropower Public Limited was the topmost gainer, while Nabil Balanced Fund-3 lost the highest percent of its market value.
