KATHMANDU, Sept 30: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday surged by 44.45 points to close at 2,508.86 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,464.40 points and remained almost stable for the first half an hour. The market then went to an upward graph in the remaining period to gain a total of 1.8 percent of the index.
Nepse stretches winning run with record weekly turnover
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, added 6.45 points. The daily turnover, however, declined to Rs 3.71 billion from Rs 4.05 billion on Sunday.
Among individual companies, 210 were recorded as gainers whereas 33 were the losers.
Only mutual funds had its index declined by 0.12 points. Of the gainers, manufacturing and processing added the biggest of 258.67 points. The indices of life insurance, hotels and tourism, and finance soared three-digit points.
CEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 176.96 million. The company was registered as the biggest gainer, adding 10 percent to its market value. Prabhu Select Fund witnessed a decline of 9.36 percent of its market price and was registered as the biggest loser.
