In a press statement issued by nepa~laya, the management company of Nepathya, the band express their gratitude to the organizers of their forthcoming shows in Tokyo and Dubai for joining hands to use the events as fundraisers for this cause. The shows in Tokyo (May 5) and Dubai (May 22) will be dedicated to the cause.
The statement also states that Nepathya pledges to contribute Rs 500,000 to this cause, and more fund collected from the concerts in Japan and Dubai will be deposited to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund.
Public will have an access to the deposit information through their social media handles.
Earlier, throughout April, the band was on a concert tour in Australia. The final show held at the Melbourne Town Hall saw the band share grief and sorrow of what had befallen in Nepal with the audience. Nepathya had even appeared on stage with black bands as a sign of mourning. Cancelling the previously planned hit songs, they chose to instead perform social numbers.
Nepathya's front man Amrit Gurung had then said, "It gives me great pain to be here on stage when our nation is facing such tragedy. I haven't slept the whole night. My body is here but my mind is in Nepal. However in these difficult times, we all need to be together and do what we can for each other."
Even then, he had made continuous appeal of unity and philanthropy.
