Last Saturday evening, April 11, the Big Top Auditorium at Luna Park in Sydney was filled with Nepalis who had come to experience a taste of their homeland. Nepathya is famously known for amalgamating indigenous folk music with rock, thereby attracting people of all age groups.
A press release issued by nepa~laya quotes Nepathya's frontman Amrit Gurung as addressing the audience: "We're now approaching our new year 2072 soon. Let me wish you all happiness. Wherever you live, live to make Nepal proud. Our individual success and prosperity will one day contribute to our homeland."
As the New Year's gift, he even sang a new track titled 'Kun Chain Phula Laithau Ra Sanu' from their soon-to-be-released album.
After 2012, this is Nepathya's second tour to Australia. This time around, Nepathya wisely chose The Big Top Auditorium at Luna Park, which is a well known concert venue for concert goers.
"We feel venue plays a vital role in attracting people. Good venue would come with good technical package and security," said Kiran Shrestha, the promoter of Nepathya. "I'm glad the organizers have started to understand the value of this and it is paying off well," he added.
The tour began on April 4 from Perth. They will be performing in Brisbane and Darwin before concluding the tour in Melbourne on April 26. The tour is organized by Myagdi Sewa Samiti to raise funds for the development of education and health sector in Myagdi District.
