According to Belbase, a staff at Penang-based restaurant, police on duty took away his 100 ringgit along with other gadgets few days back while he was coming back home late at night.
"Police told me to show passport and work-permit, I showed photocopies, instead. They took me to isolation and robbed me of my money," complained Belbase.
Balbase is not only the victim, Prahlad Giri of Hetauda shares the similar harrowing tales of having been robbed.

Hem Sapkota
Few days ago, while he was returning home police intercepted him and took away his Samsung Mobile Note 3 and a lapto few days ago, said Giri.
Similarly, Hem Sapkota of Baglung is another Nepali migrant worker harassed and victimized by Malaysian police. Sapkota said police took away his 20 ringgit on the pretext of not carrying original passport. All these said migrant workers are legal.
There are illegal migrant workers, too in Malaysia. According to Malaysian law, police have to handover illegal migrant worker to immigration department as soon as they are caught.
But they are released after taking 200 ringgit as bribe, which is why the number of illegal migrant workers is not coming down in Malaysia.
