Police have concluded that Barkat Ali Musalman, of Asuraina-4 in Rupandehi, who is in judicial custody in Bhairahawa jail facing extortion charges, masterminded the kidnapping of Diwakar Yadav from behind the bars.[break]
The 10-year-old boy was abducted from Bhairahawa on June 5 while returning from school. His whereabouts is unknown ever since.
Despite collecting the details about criminals involved in Diwakar´s abduction, the police have failed to locate the abducted boy.
The police had the information that the boy was kept hidden by one Aanshu Singh and Tulla Musalman, who hail from Brijamgunj and Badehari in India. However, as police failed to trace Singh and Musalman, the boy is yet to be rescued.
According to police, Duryodhan Yadav, alias Pintu, of Asuraina village-3 in Rupandehi and Aalam Churihar of Majhagawa, were involved in picking up the boy and handing him over to Ramesh Yadav of Sundi, Maharajgunj in India. It was Ramesh who called Parshuram asking for Rs 7.5 million in ransom.
Upon the request of Nepal police, Indian police had arrested Ramesh from Mumbai. It is believed that police later freed him under political pressure.
Police say the arrests of some Indian criminals involved in the kidnapping is crucial to trace the abducted boy.
