KATHMANDU, March 12: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has said that the police should not hesitate to take action against criminals without awaiting specific orders.


In a public statement, Home Minister Lamichhane urged law enforcement agencies to proactively address criminal activities, including illegal practices, tax evasion, hooliganism, intimidation, and smuggling, without waiting for directives.

He directed the authorities to uphold the rule of law by enforcing legal measures as mandated.


He wrote on the social networking site Facebook, "Turn over the pages of the law and demonstrate the essence of the rule of law. Work in a manner that doesn't require you to salute me, but allows me to salute you instead.”
