KATHMANDU, Nov 30: Taking time off their busy training schedule, the Nepali cricket team on Wednesday spent some time with children at an orphanage ´Pabitra Samaj Sewa´ in Kathmandu.

The entire Nepali players went to the home located at Dhapashi in the afternoon and mingled freely with the children, who seemed overwhelmed at the sight of their heroes like Paras Khadka, Binod Das.[break]

On their arrival, around 24 children living in the home kissed the national heroes, danced in front of them and chatted with them. The cricketers, then, served lunch to the children and distributed warm clothes to them.

"It feels good to be here with these kids. It´s an idea of our coach,” said Nepali team captain Paras Khadka.

“It´s like having time-off from cricket and relaxing,” said Nepali team coach Pubudu Dassanayake. “Cricketers are a kind of hero in this country and it´s their duty to give some time to the society,” he added.

Children told players about their dreams. “I want to be Miss World,” said Sundari Nepal, a grader-three student, while two years and six months old Andaj Nepal enjoyed a warm lap of Nepali team coach Dassanayake. The children living at ´Pabitra Samaj sewa´ are given ´Nepal´ title by founder Dikchhya Chapagain.

“I´ve heard about the national cricketers but met them only today,” said Chapagain. “The children are happy to meet them and I´m happy about for it,” she added.
