Nepal’s stall and performance were the best among all countries, according to chairman of the Chapo Youth Photographers Association Chang Huan.
Chang, who had recently published a pictorial book on Nepal in Chinese language, had come from Santong province, 1,000 km from Shanghai, to participate in the festival.
Kalyan Raj Sharma, a student at Fu Tan Uninersity, said over 10,000 people have visited the stall so far.
He added they had initially thought that even the participation from Nepal in a festival organized by one of the best universities in China, which caters to 84,000 students from 100 countries, would be significant and that it was really good when the visitors judged Nepal’s presentation as the best.
Nepali team had presented a traditional song and dance during the inauguration. Nepali food items were offered to visitors at the stall. Over 2,500 people tasted Nepali food on the first day.
Nepali stall was decorated with pictures of traditional goods, handicraft items, traditional dresses, music instruments and places of natural and tourism importance. Nepal Tourism Board had distributed posters, pamphlets, books and brochures to the visitors.
Nepali students studying in the university are representing Nepal at the festival. The Nepali team is supported by Nepali embassy in Beijing and promoted by Nepal Tourism Board.
