According to a press statement issued by Nepal Telecom on Sunday, Amarnath Singh, the managing director of telecom operator company and Rabindra Pratap Shah, the IGP of Nepal Police signed the deal on behalf of their respective institutions. [break]This is the second year that Nepal Telecom has partnered with Police.
"The company expects to get to the grassroots through football," said Guna Kasheri Pradhan, spokesperson for Nepal Telecom.
On the occasion, General Manager Singh and IGP Shah handed over jerseys to Police players with the logo of Nepal Telecom. As per the agreement, Police team will sport jerseys with Nepal Telecom´s logo in all the local and international tournaments.
Police won A division league held in the capital last season with title hat-trick after signing the deal with Nepal Telecom. Similarly, Police also claimed the title of National League held last year in Pokhara and Butwal.
Police also competed in the AFC President´s Cup as the National League champion. Earlier, Police clinched the title of British Gorkha Cup held five months ago in the capital. The tournament had marked the beginning of current season in Nepali football.
