KATHMANDU, June 21: Nepal Storms made a wining start to the ongoing Asian Club Premier League (ACPL) Twenty 20 tournament defeating Bangladesh Tigers by seven wickets on Wednesday.
In the match played at TU Cricket Ground, Storms won the toss and opted to bowl and packed Tigers for 148 runs in 19.1 overs and met the target losing three wickets in 16.4 overs.
Tigers couldn't make a solid start to the innings as it lost openers Chandan Sharma (5) and Anku Dubey (2) cheaply. Sanjog Binkar who came to bat at number three tried to lay the foundation stroking 27 runs off 16 balls. Ramesh Panchal scored highest 30 runs facing 18 balls while Sagir Ul Hasan made 18 runs off 19 balls.
Malwinder was the pick of the Storm's bowlers as he pocketed 3-20 in three overs.
Likewise, skipper Haseeb Amjad, Gaurav Barabade and Dishant Yadav as they claimed two wickets each.

Meanwhile, Bhupendra Thapa stroked highest 51 runs off 37 balls for Storms while Dishant Yadav scored 46 runs facing 35 balls. Likewise, Pawan Chandel and Gaurav Barabade contributed 23 and 11 runs respectively. Pawan Kumar pocketed two wickets for Tigers while Sanket Sahu added another for the losing side.
In other match of the day, Dubai Warriors saw off Sri Lankan Lions by 21 runs. Warriors opted to bat after winning the toss and made a total of 189 runs losing nine wickets.
Warriors made a solid start to the innings with its openers Abdul Shakoor and Ravi Verma scoring 56 and 30 runs respectively. Dawood Ejaz also stroked 56 runs off 19 balls to help his team make the respectable total.
Lions' Mohd Nizamuddin and Nishan Samarakkody pocketed two wickets each. Likewise, Karan Walia and Akash Goutal claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Lions was limited for 168 runs. Although, Nishan Samarakkody and Dinesh Nakrani made 63 and 72 runs respectively, that wasn't enough for Lions to pull victory.
