KATHMANDU, July 2: Nepal Storm and Sri Lankan Lions are set to battle in the summit clash of the ongoing Asian Club Premier League (ACPL).
Nepal Storm which had faced defeat at the hands of finalist Lions in the first qualifier match on Saturday, saw off Dubai Warriors by three wickets in the second qualifier match on Sunday to secure its place in the summit clash.
Warriors which had wrapped up the league round in fourth place had beaten Bangladesh Tigers, a third place team, in eliminator match in order to fix qualifier match against Storm.
In the match played at TU Cricket Ground, put into bat first, Warriors scored a total of 183 runs in the loss of nine wickets in allotted 20 overs. In reply, Storm reached 187-7 in 19.4 overs.
Unbeaten Pawan Chandel stroked a century for Storm which proved to be crucial for the team to meet the target. Pawan scored 120 runs off 62 balls while Jitender Sharma made not out 16 runs facing 10 balls. Likewise Warriors' Amit Kumar and Ali Malik took two wickets each while Orminder added another.
Earlier, Dawood Ejaz struck 54 runs off 30 balls for Warriors while Amit Kumar made 37 runs facing 14 balls. Likewise, Abdul Shakoor contributed 32 runs off 13 balls. Likewise, Malwinder was the pick of the Storm's bowlers as he pocketed three wickets while he was supported by Ashish Bist who claimed two wickets. Likewise, Jitender Sharma added another wicket for the winning team.
