KATHMANDU, Aug 14: The Nepali national cricket team has bid farewell ahead of the ACC Premier Cup, scheduled to be held in Malaysia.
The Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) organized a farewell event on Friday. The team is scheduled to undergo 10 days of training in India before travelling to Malaysia for the tournament.
CAN had earlier announced a 14-member squad under the captaincy of leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane. The squad includes Sandeep Lamichhane (captain), Aasif Sheikh, Arjun Kumal, Rohit Paudel, Dev Khanal, Dipendra Singh Airee, Sandeep Jora, Basir Ahmed, Ishan Pandey, Gulshan Jha, Sher Malla, Lalit Rajbanshi, Karan KC and Hemant Dhami.
Nepal’s 14-member squad announced for ACC Premier Cup
The 10-team tournament has been divided into two groups. Nepal is in Group A alongside Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Bahrain and Hong Kong, while the other group comprises the UAE, Oman, Singapore, Kuwait and Qatar.
The tournament will begin on August 30, with Nepal playing its first match against Saudi Arabia on September 1. Nepal will then face Bahrain on September 3, Malaysia on September 5 and Hong Kong on September 7.
