KATHMANDU, Sept 22: As many as 1,356 new cases of COVID-19 were detected across the country in the past 24 hours, taking Nepal’s COVID-19 tally to 66,632.
Likewise, the country also recorded only two fatalities related to COVID-19 on Tuesday.
According to Dr Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 823 COVID-19 patients recovered and returned home in the past 24 hours.
So far, 48,061 people who were earlier infected with the virus have recovered.

With two new deaths on Tuesday, Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll has reached 429.
In the past 24 hours, 11,154 people underwent Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests.
Currently, there are 196 COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment at intensive care units (ICUs) and 31 are on ventilators across the country.
Some 7,171 people are in quarantine facilities and 18,142 people are in isolation.
Morang, Siraha, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Makwanpur, Chitwan and Rupandehi districts have more than 500 active cases of COVID-19 whereas Solukhumbu, Rasuwa, Mustang, Mygadi, Dolpa, Mugu and Humla districts have reported being corona-free districts.
Similarly, the federal capital of Nepal, the Kathmandu Valley alone recorded 647 new cases in the past 24 hours.
