Nepal records 3,365 new cases, 1,373 recoveries and 16 deaths on Thursday

KATHMANDU, July 29: Nepal recorded 3,365 new cases of COVID-19 including 1,373 recoveries and 16 deaths on Thursday.

According to the latest data of the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), as many as 9,555 PCR tests and 4,687 antigen tests were conducted on Thursday. Of them, 2,335 PCR tests and 1,030 antigen tests turned out to be positive for COVID-19.

Similarly, 16 individuals succumbed to COVID-19 in the country on Thursday. With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll has reached 9,807.

There are currently 27,355 COVID-19 patients in home isolation, 3,035 in institutional isolation, 636 in ICUs and 160 on ventilators as of Thursday afternoon, according to the health ministry.

Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 860 new cases of COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 597 were detected in Kathmandu, 108 in Bhaktapur and 155 in Lalitpur districts.
