KATHMANDU, Dec 27: Nepal recorded 271 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday along with 225 recoveries and one death, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 10,886 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 251 PCR and 20 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 5,031 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 4,694 are in home isolation, 236 in institutional isolation, 78 in ICUs, and 23 on ventilators. Similarly, 97 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,586 people have died from the virus across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 165 cases of the virus on Monday. Of them, 132 were recorded in Kathmandu, 14 in Bhaktapur, and 19 in Lalitpur districts.
