KATHMANDU, Dec 22: Nepal recorded 263 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday along with 272 recoveries and two deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 11,309 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 217 PCR and 19 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 5,304 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 4,948 are in home isolation, 237 in institutional isolation, 92 in ICUs, and 27 on ventilators. Similarly, 107 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,579 people have died from the virus across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 125 cases of the virus on Wednesday. Of them, 76 were recorded in Kathmandu, 13 in Bhaktapur, and 36 in Lalitpur districts.
