KATHMANDU, Dec 20: Nepal recorded 220 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday along with 263 recoveries and one death, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 4,141 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 218 PCR and two antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 5,361 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 4,964 are in home isolation, 261 in institutional isolation, 109 in ICUs, and 27 on ventilators. Similarly, 94 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,574 people have died from the virus across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 129 cases of the virus on Monday. Of them, 89 were recorded in Kathmandu, seven in Bhaktapur, and 33 in Lalitpur districts.
