KATHMANDU, Dec 26: Nepal recorded 219 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday along with 283 recoveries and two deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 9,677 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 213 PCR and six antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 5,005 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 4,677 are in home isolation, 229 in institutional isolation, 75 in ICUs and 24 on ventilators. Similarly, 99 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,585 people have died from the virus across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 113 cases of the virus on Sunday. Of them, 77 were recorded in Kathmandu, eight in Bhaktapur, and 28 in Lalitpur districts.
