It recently participated in Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA) Tourism Expo 2015 held at Big Sight, Tokyo held from September 24 to 27."Most of the people who visited Nepal's stall at the expo raised concern about safety and security issues and post-quake scenario of mobility, heritage renovation and product recovery," NTB said in a statement.
Along with NTB, The Malla Hotel, Himalayan Guides Nepal Treks and Expeditions, and Liberty Holidays, participated in the expo.
During the event, NTB made a presentation on post-quake scenario, facilities for tourists, and tourism products and services that the country offers.
Shigeki Imoto, Honorary PRR of NTB in Japan, in his welcome note, applauded the Japanese people for their constant and healthy contribution to Nepali tourism and expected the same in the future too. Madan Bhattarai, Ambassador of Nepal to Japan appealed to the Japanese visitors to plan a trip to Nepal if they really want to contribute in the country's earthquake recovery process. Likewise, Junko Taibei, first woman to climb Mount Everest, shared experiences of her numerous visitors to Nepal and declared that Nepal is safe as ever, the statement added.
NTB also participated in Expo Milano in Milan, Italy on September 23 with an aim to educate and aware local media and tour operators as well as other key tourism stakeholders based in Europe about Nepal's current situation.
Minister for Commerce and Supplies Sunil Bahadur Thapa and Deputy Secretary of Italy's Ministry of Environment, Barbara Degani launched 'National Day of Nepal' on September 23.
Rajendra Sigdel, head of Corporate Services Department of NTB informed visitors about 'Nepal: Back on Top of the World' campaign launched by the government to revive tourism in the aftermath of the earthquake. Similarly, Nepal's ambassador to Geneva Deepak Dhital urged tourists to help Nepal by visiting Nepal.
