Nepal Police requests to celebrate Holi in a civil and safe manner

KATHMANDU, March 3: District Police Range, Kathmandu has requested the general public to celebrate Holi in a civil and safe manner.


Police Range, Kathmandu in a notice on Thursday requested everyone to celebrate Holi in a decent, healthy and dignified manner. The police have asked people to play Holi only with their close relatives and not to engage in disorderly activities in the name of Holi festival.

Police Superintendent Sita Ram Rijal, Spokesperson of District Police Range, Kathmandu, said that if anyone uses paint, mobile, chemicals and waste water against their will to anyone, action will be taken according to the law.


The police have asked not to play Holi by wearing expensive jewelry, to strictly follow traffic rules, not to drive vehicles under the influence of alcohol, not to abuse the disabled, women, children, senior citizens and tourists in any way.


The police have requested not to play Holi on roofs and roads without railings, not to play in crowded places.  If a person knows that any criminal activity is about to happen or has happened, the police has requested to immediately report to Nepal Police hotline number 100.
