KATHMANDU, March 19: The Nepal Police has constituted an internal committee to look into the alleged irregularities reported in the sale of petroleum products from its headquarters-based petrol pump at Naxal.

The five-member committee headed by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sarbendra Khanal comprises SP Narottamlal Pradhan, SP Shyam Gyawali, DSP Nawaraj Karki and Police Inspector Keshab Gautam, the Nepal Police said in a press statement Thursday.

The Nepal Police-run petrol pump in Naxal was on March 17 found with irregularities in the supply of petro products by a market monitoring team supported by the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and was thus sealed. Of five nozzles installed in the petrol pump, a huge deficit was found in the supply from three nozzles. The committee has been assigned to find out whether such irregularities were intentional or a result of technical errors and submit a report within a week. RSS
