Defenders Aakash Thapa and Gaurab Budathoki have been excluded from the squad owing to injuries. The duo will be replaced by Siddhartha Ranjit and Chandra Wajee.Nepal has been placed in Group E alongside with host Iran, Jordan and Kuwait in the tournament. Nepali youth team will leave for Iran on Wednesday.
Nepal will kick off its campaign of the Qualifiers taking on host Iran on October 2 and Kuwait two days later. Nepal will wrap up its campaign by locking horns with Jordan on October 6.
Balgopal Maharjan is the head coach of the team while Sunil Shrestha and Mrigendra Mishra are coaches. Diwakar Ghale is the team manager and Raju Dahal is physiotherapist.
The winners of all 10 groups and best five runners-up among all groups will secure place in the 16-team final along with Bahrain, the host of the final rounds, to be held next year. However, the sixth best runner-up may qualify for final if Bahrain finishes on top of its group.
