‘Nepal Africa Film Festival’ from November 2

College of Journalism and Mass Communication (CJMC) is organizing ‘Nepal Africa Film Festival’ from November 2 for three days at Rastriya Nachghar, Jamal. This film festival is an annual program of CJMC.

College of Journalism and Mass Communication (CJMC) is organizing ‘Nepal Africa Film Festival’ from November 2 for three days at Rastriya Nachghar, Jamal. This film festival is an annual program of CJMC.


For the festival, there are movies from 12 countries, which include Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Senegal, Malawi, Egypt, Norway, Germany and the United Kingdom. “We have already finished the selection process of African cinemas to view here in the capital,” said Manju Mishra, the chairperson of CJMC.

According to Mishra, there are altogether 25 movies, which comprise features and shorts, documentaries and animated ones. From which, a total of 13 movies are from Nepal and the rest from the countries of Africa.


‘Nepal Africa Film Festival’ is the first film fiesta in the South-Asian countries where the African movies are shown. “Started seven years ago, this festival is an opportunity to view African countries through movies,” added Mishra.
