KATHMANDU, Nov 2: The ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) will finalize its candidates for the upcoming by-election on Sunday.
A meeting of the party secretariat held at the prime minister's official residence at Baluwatar on Saturday failed to make any decision to this effect.
"The meeting couldn't finalize the names of the candidates for the by-polls due to lack of homework today," said the party spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha adding, "We have been assessing recommendations received from the constituency-level election coordination committees, district committees and provincial committees. Once we complete the detail studies, the secretariat meeting will nominate the candidates tomorrow."
The by-election is scheduled to be held on November 30.
On a different note, Shrestha said that health condition of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is normal adding that he is carrying out the duties normally. "However, the detail report of PM's health status has yet to be received," he added.
