KATHMANDU, Sept 20: The ruling Nepal Communist Party has prepared to file impeachment motion against Justice Deepak Raj Joshee. The party has started the signature campaign for the impeachment motion.
Justice resumed his office at Supreme Court, a week ago, almost after a month, after being rejected by the Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) for the post of chief justice on August 3 following serious controversy over his academic credentials and leadership skills.

Party whip Dev Gurung led the campaign at the parliament premises on Thursday. Likewise, the lawmaker of the party was called at the party office to collect the signature.
“We have been asked to sign in blank paper, likely for the impeachment purpose”, said one lawmaker.
Another lawmaker informed that he received a call for the preparation of the impeachment motion but added that was unable to present for the signature as he was outside the valley.
As per the constitution, impeachment motion could be launched with the one-third signature of the lawmakers. Following the registration of the motion, the official is automatically suspended from the post.
