KATHMANDU, July 19: Nepal Chamber of Commerce(NCC) has started the online system of issuing ‘Certificate of Origin’ to those who export goods from Nepal to foreign countries.
Secretary of Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies(MoICS) Kedar Bahadur Karki and NCC chairperson Rajesh Kaji Shrestha launched the online system of issuing ‘Certificate of Origin’ in the capital amid a special function on Friday.
Certificate of Origin to be issued online
“Nepal has entered a new era in the realm of export promotion,” reads the press release issued by NCC on Friday.
Speaking at the program organized in the NCC secretariat building, MoICS secretary Adhikari said that the online system of issuing a certificate of origin would take effect from August 18, 2019 completely.
NCC chairperson Shrestha said that NCC had a plan to bring as many exporters as possible under the online system of issuing a certificate of origin by conducting trainings on its advantages in the days to come.
The program was also attended by Joint Secretary at MoICS, Executive Director of Trade and Export Promotion Center, exporters, NCC officials and other concerned stakeholders.
It is expected that the online system of issuing a certificate of origin will facilitate the export of goods from Nepal to foreign countries, the press release states.
