CPN-UML chairman Jhalanath Khanal and NC Parliament Party leader Ram Chandra Paudel accused PM Bhattarai of lying to the people on the peace process.[break]
Khanal said that PM Bhattarai has lost his moral ground due to his lies.
The former PM accused PM Bhattarai of lying to people by misinterpreting his own statement on peace process.
He also demanded PM’s clarification at Parliament on his lies.
Khanal also claimed that the government in incapable of doing anything as it failed to provide relief to victims of earthquake and arrest the murderer of the leader of Muslim community.
He also criticized United Madhes Democratic Front (UDMF) – an alliance of Madhes based parties. “It’s wrong to say that the Front is the only representative of Tarai region especially when the votes UML, Nepali Congress and Maoist received is more than those parties combined in the Front,” he said.
He also demanded immediate sacking of Defense Minister Sarat Singh Bhandari and Land Reform Minister Prabhu Sah. Bhandari gave a controversial statement on secession of 22 Tarai districts while Sah is one of the accused of a murder case.
Khanal said that it would be difficult to run the Parliament until the ministers are removed.
Government promoting impunity: NC
Meanwhile, NC leaders Paudel and Ram Sharan Mahat accused the government of promoting impunity by protecting criminal.
Paudel accused government of pushing the country towards impunity by not registering case against accused murderer and deciding for amnesty to criminals.
Mahat criticized the government for not sacking Minister Sah and said it was wrong move by the Maoist spokesperson Dinanath Sharma to protect him. Earlier, Sharma has claimed that Sah was not involved in murder and accused of politicizing the issue.
Mahat demanded removal of Sah and Bhandari from their posts.
