NC to an old tree with hollow trunk: Dahal

KAPILVASTU (REPUBLICA): UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has likened the Nepali Congress to an old tree with a hollow trunk. “The Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML have lost their ground as they are always after power,” claimed Dahal. He also claimed that his party was the only progressive force in the country. [break]



 “NC has now turned like an old tree with a hollow trunk as the party holds no sway in any of the constituencies across the country.” Speaking at a gathering in Kapilvastu on Sunday, Dahal accused NC and UML of being “status-quo-ists”. Speaking at the same function, another leader of the party Baburam Bhattarai blamed NC, UML and the Madhes-based parties for the dissolution of the previous Constituent Assembly.
