MANANG, May 14: Dhan Bahadur Gurung of the Nepali Congress has been elected to the post of Chairman of Naso Rural Municipality in Manang district. He gathered 820 votes while his nearest rival Man Bahadur Gurung of the CPN-UML secured 676 votes.
Similarly, Bed Bahadur Gurung of the CPN (Maoist Center) from the alliance was elected Vice Chairman of the Rural Municipality securing 902 votes.
Gurung's closest rival Arjun Gurung, an independent candidate, got 591 votes. Out of 1,802 voters in the rural municipality, 1,496 votes or 83.01 per cent votes were cast in Friday's election.
