NC leads in three municipalities in Syangja

POKHARA, May 14: The vote counting process has started in Galyan Municipality, Putalibazar Municipality, Birkot Municipality and Kaligandaki, Harinas and Phedikhola Rural Municipality in Syangja district. As per the preliminary results of the vote counting, Nepali Congress (NC) is leading in Galyan, Putalibazar and Birkot Municipality. 

According to sources, NC has received 2,457 votes for the post of mayor and 2,406 votes for the deputy-mayoral candidate. Similarly, CPN-UML candidate has received 1,606 votes for the mayoral post and 1,630 votes for the post of deputy mayor.

In Putalibazar Municipality, NC’s mayoral candidate Tulsiram Regmi is leading with 599 votes followed by UML’s candidate Seema Kumari Chhetri with 433 votes. NC’s deputy mayoral candidate Devi Aryal is also leading with 544 votes while UML’s deputy mayoral candidate has received 412 votes. 

In Birkot Municipality, NC’s mayoral candidate is leading with a margin of 79 votes while the party’s deputy mayoral candidate Bhagawati Regmi has received 103 votes. Similarly, UML’s mayoral candidate Bishwanath Aryal has received 64 votes while the party’s deputy mayoral candidate Saraswati Adhikari has received 45 votes. 

In Kaligandaki Rural Municipality, NC’s Khim Thapa has received 591 votes, while UML’s Sabitra Koirala has received 493 votes. For the post of deputy mayor, NC candidate Maya Rana has received 165 votes, while People’s Front Nepal’s Krishnakam Lamichhane has received 203 votes.
